How to Stream on a Laptop

Laptops are perfect for web player streaming. Here is how to set up streaming on any laptop.

How to Stream on a Laptop

Windows laptop setup

Open Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. Go to the web player URL. Enter credentials. Connect laptop to TV via HDMI for bigger screen. Adjust volume and start watching.

Mac laptop setup

Open Safari or Chrome. Go to the web player URL. Enter credentials. Use AirPlay to Apple TV or connect via HDMI/USB-C adapter. Mac laptops have excellent video decoding.

Chromebook setup

Open Chrome. Go to the web player URL. Enter credentials. Chromebooks are excellent for browser streaming because Chrome is optimized for them. Cast to Chromecast for TV viewing.

Connecting laptop to TV

HDMI cable: simplest and most reliable. USB-C to HDMI: for modern laptops without HDMI port. Chromecast: cast Chrome tab to TV. AirPlay: from Mac to Apple TV.

Laptop streaming tips

Close background apps to free up memory. Use a wired Ethernet connection if possible. Keep your laptop plugged in — streaming uses significant battery. Use headphones for better audio.
