Chromecast Web Player Setup Guide

Chromecast lets you cast web player streaming from your browser to your TV. Here is how.

Chromecast Web Player Setup Guide

What is Chromecast?

Chromecast is a device that plugs into your TV HDMI port and receives video cast from your phone, tablet, or computer browser. It costs $30-$50.

Casting from Chrome browser

Open Chrome on your computer. Navigate to the web player URL. Right-click on the page and select Cast. Select your Chromecast device. The web player will appear on your TV.

Casting from Chrome on phone/tablet

Open Chrome on your phone or tablet. Navigate to the web player. Tap the three-dot menu, select Cast. Choose your Chromecast. Video plays on TV, controls stay on your device.

Chromecast with Google TV

Newer Chromecast with Google TV can install streaming apps directly. But for web player streaming, you can also cast from your browser to it, just like older Chromecasts.

Chromecast tips

Make sure your Chromecast and casting device are on the same WiFi. Use 5GHz WiFi for best streaming quality. Keep your casting device nearby — it needs to stay connected.
