Internet Speed for Browser Streaming
Minimum speed requirements
SD streaming: 5 Mbps. HD streaming: 10 Mbps. 4K streaming: 25 Mbps. These are per-device — if other devices are streaming, you need more.
How to test your speed
Open a speed test website (speedtest.net) in your browser. Test from the same device and location where you will stream. If below 10 Mbps, you may need faster internet.
WiFi vs Ethernet for browser streaming
Ethernet is always more stable for streaming. If on a laptop, use a USB-to-Ethernet adapter. If on WiFi, sit close to your router or use a WiFi extender.
How many devices can stream at once?
If you have 100 Mbps internet, you can stream HD on about 10 devices simultaneously. But if your internet is 25 Mbps, you can only stream HD on 2-3 devices.
Improving speed for streaming
Upgrade your internet plan. Use Ethernet instead of WiFi. Move router closer to your device. Use 5GHz WiFi instead of 2.4GHz. Disconnect devices you are not using.
